Steel wire rope for elevator
Steel wire ropes for elevators are specialized wire ropes used in elevator systems to support and haul the car, serving as the "lifeline" for ensuring safe elevator operation. Their design and manufacturing strictly comply with the mandatory national standard GB 8903—2024. Common specifications include 8×19S+FC-8mm and 8×19S+FC-10mm, with sisal or PPC synthetic fiber as the rope core. Elevator steel wire ropes feature high strength, fatigue resistance, and low elongation, with a safety factor of no less than 12 (for three or more ropes), and each elevator is equipped with at least 2 ropes (typically 4 or more), providing multiple redundancy design. The products are widely used as suspension wire ropes for traction-driven and hydraulic-driven elevators, as well as compensation wire ropes and governor wire ropes for passenger elevators, freight elevators, and service elevators.
